Money-Saving Tips for the MN State Fair

Attending the fair doesn’t have to break the bank. Here are some budget-friendly tips our clients (and team!) swear by:

Plan your parking:
Official parking lots cost around $20, but you can often find local homes and businesses nearby offering cheaper (and closer!) parking—just bring cash and arrive early. Or skip the hassle and take the Express Bus or Park & Ride options for free or reduced cost.

Bring a refillable water bottle:
Stay hydrated for free! There are several free water refill stations throughout the fairgrounds.

Share food to sample more for less:
The portions are generous—split dishes with friends or family so you can try more without overspending.

Take advantage of free activities:
Many of the best attractions are free, including the animal barns, parades, live music, and educational exhibits like the Eco Experience or Creative Activities building.

Set a spending limit for souvenirs:
It’s easy to get carried away in the shopping areas—set a budget before you go to avoid impulse buys.
