World Snow Sculpting Championship

The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Stillwater, is honored to host the 2nd World Snow Sculpting Championship competition sanctioned by the Association Internationale de Sculpture sur Neige et Glace based in Finland. Teams from around the world will travel to Stillwater, Minnesota to create amazing snow sculptures while competing for prize money and the title of the World Champion. This will be a judged event and will include social events, activities, ceremonies, the people’s choice award, and will be fun for the whole family. January 18th-22nd, 2023.

Event Schedule

Monday and Tuesday, January 16-17
Snow Stomping in the park – an organized activity to fill the forms with snow to prepare for snow sculpting teams. Event sponsors and groups will be stomping the snow to pack the snow into the forms – come watch the process! Takes place in parking lots along Lowell Park.

Exhibition Snow Sculpting with local snow sculpting team Jon Baller, Curt Cook and Clare McDonough starting at 9AM Tuesday and Wednesday Location: Lowell Park

Wednesday, January 18th

Official Kick-Off – 8:45 am Short program and celebration to officially kick off the World Snow Sculpting Championship with host, Dave Dahl

9:00 am – Tools Up! Sculptors begin sculpting!  – Location: Lowell Park Gazebo

9:00 am – Celebrate with a bloody mary bar at Water Street Inn!

Opening Ceremony – 4:30 pm Formal event open to the public with a dinner and program; meet the teams. Host, Mayor Ted Kozlowski – Location: JX Event Center

Thursday, January 19th

Teams will be sculpting their creations all day and into the evening – come watch their progress! – Location: Lowell Park

Friday, January 20th

Teams will be sculpting their creations all day and into the evening – come watch their progress! Location: Lowell Park

Indoor Market & Warming House HOURS on Friday 4:00-9:00 pm. – Location: Water Street Inn

Saturday, January 21st
