5 NEW THINGS TO TRY AT THE MINNESOTA STATE FAIR 2022

Every summer, nearly 2 million people visit the Minnesota State Fair. With nearly 500 food items, 30 carnival rides and more than 900 free performances, there’s plenty of things to do to keep you busy. Here are just a few of the new things to try this year.

1. 38 New Foods 
-Pickle Pizza at Rick’s Pizza – Hand-tossed homemade pizza dough topped with homemade specialty dill ranch sauce, fresh mozzarella, and crunchy dill pickles, and finished with dill weed seasoning.
-Breakfast Gnocchi & Sweet Potato Poutine at The Blue Barn – A bed of potato gnocchi topped with scrambled eggs, bacon, pesto cream, shallots and balsamic glaze.
-Vanilla Dream Nordic Waffle at Nordic Waffles – Vanilla Dream is a Nordic Waffle coated with cinnamon and sugar and filled with Norwegian vanilla custard cream.
-Minne Hot Hot at RC’s BBQ – Smoked Rib Tips tossed in Nashville Hot Sauce, served with Comeback Sauce.
-Lemon Cookie Tortilla Chips at Blue Moon Dine-In – Lemon sandwich cookies deconstructed into four large tortilla chips made from a blend of cookies and corn, served with creamy-center-of-the-cookie cream dip topped with lemon curd.

-Minneblueberry Pie at Minneapple Pie – Handmade blueberry pie made with a crisp, flaky crust, filled with blueberries, and served with vanilla ice cream. (Vegan if served without ice cream)

2. Blue Ribbon BINGO – Play BINGO at the Minnesota State Fair! BINGO proceeds support the Minnesota State Fair Foundation. BINGO sessions include five games and last about 30 minutes. The first session will begin promptly at 9 a.m. daily; sessions will be held approximately once per hour, with the last session beginning at about 8 p.m. (7 p.m. on Labor Day). Check the sign outside Ramberg Center for session start times throughout the day.

3. Survival: The Exhibition – Adventure, fun and science collide! Survival: The Exhibition transports guests of all ages to the world’s most awe-inspiring locales and asks the question: How can humans survive here? (Free with fair admission)

4. Two New Midway Rides – Iron Dragon Coaster and Music Express! Get in, buckle up and get ready to ride!

5. Eco Experience – At this award-winning exhibit, an array of new features includes displays (a must-see giant loon and an oversized cardboard moose!), plus resources and demonstrations that highlight what you can do to help improve our air, land, water and climate.
